We’re so confident we are the best, we’ve compiled a list of our competitors, complete with their pros and cons. Sit back. Relax. We did the research for you.
We provide the exceptional service we'd want to experience ourselves!

What makes us different
– We hire for language abilities + teachability. Then we teach everything else. If you hire around Upwork, Freelancer, and other VA services for a whole team, you’ll find your team varies a lot in comprehension, skill level, and even software they’re willing to use. By training all of our VA’s in all of the skills they’ll need, we’re able to keep more consistent than any of our competitors.
– We only hire people who can comprehend American English just as well as any American. Most VA agencies hire in India and The Phillipines due to the low wages. However, in our experience, the work language is different enough in those places that breakdowns in communication are too common. We hire all over the world, but we’ve had the best luck in Mexico and other parts of Latin America.
Skills & equipment you won’t find with other VA services
Most “virtual assistant” services can handle admin, data entry, social meda…maybe even blog writing and SEO. Very few of them offer a professional level of anything like video or photo editing. We’re proud to offer those two, as well as PHP and React Native–among a few other coding languages–skills you’ll need if you want to develop real mobile or web apps.
We can offer more/better services for 3 reasons:
1) We have a whole room of powerful cloud computers that our VA’s have access to for more advanced tasks like photo and video editing. We also share software/licenses/memberships that cost many thousands of dollars.
2) We are a part of Ostmore, a group of 12 companies. We train people to take on the tasks that WE need, so we are our own customers.
3) Because of our business model, we hire fulltime employees, and don’t act as “brokerage” like other VA services. Remote workers work for us when they’re not working for you, providing more security and better prices.
Our competitors
We’re really proud of where we are, and we’re pretty sure you’ll come back to us once you’ve explored the alternatives.
Time Etc.
- Time Etc. starts out at $310/week for 10 hours/week. That comes out to $31/hour. They go down to about $28/hour when hiring 60+ hours/month.
- The really obvious upside is that they are all US-based and presumably, Native English speakers. That goes further than you might think.
- The downside is they really only do the basic VA-type tasks. eg data entry, content writing, research, and social media are all on their list of things they can do.
Prialto
- Prialto starts out at $1355/month for 55 hours/month. That comes out to $27.10/hour. They go down to $24.50/hour when hiring fulltime (165+ hours/month).
- This is the only one we could find that was structured in the same way as Lil Assistance, such that the VA’s are fulltime employees of the company, rather than a loose conglomeration of Freelancers. We believe this structure gives better stability, security, and skillset consistency, even if the company is at greater risk. Props to Prialto for this.
- Workers based in Guatemala and Phillipines.
- They really still just do basic admin work, data entry, and similar. Very few remote worker services offer advanced skills.
Wing Assistant
- Wing Assistant starts out at $600/month for 20 hours/week. That comes out to about $6.92/hour. They go down to about $5.19/hour when hiring fulltime (40 hours/week).
- This is probably our strongest competitor, because they do have an exhaustive list of possible skills/tasks, and they’re the only ones that come close on price.
- However, that pricepoint only gets you basic data entry work. They put weird restricitons on what their VAs can and can’t do, and a graphc designer or content writer will cost you 2.3x as much. A social media manager costs twice as much. Anyone bilingual costs 2.7x the amount.
- They avoid a direct answer of where their staff are located, but it appears to be (primarily) The Phillipines.
Remote Bob
- Remote Bob starts out at £560 (GBP)/month for 40 hours/month. That comes out to about $18/hour. They go down to about $15/hour when hiring for 160+ hours/month.
- They may have a list of Freelancers to contact, but they effectively function as a broker. You tell them what you want and they go and try to find them elsewhere. They do not train, nor keep VA’s on staff.
- Remote Bob claims to be able to do just about anything, but they clearly specialize in admin work, social media, and the like.
- They claim to be London-based, but it appears their staff is in India and Eastern Europe.
Blink VA Services
- Blink VA Services starts out at £290 (GBP)/week for 10 hours/week. That comes out to about $37/hour. They go down to about $31/hour when hiring fulltime (40 hours/week).
- Downside is they are among the most expensive service out there.
- Upside is they have a “backup team of administration staff, graphic designers and website developers.” Their own design and media leaves something to be desired, so it’s unclear exactly what you can get from that.
- When you go with Blink, you get a VA who specializes in admin tasks. There are no other options.
Zirtual
- Zirtual starts out at $549/month for 12 hours/month. That comes out to $45.75/hour. They go down to $34/hour when hiring 50+ hours/month.
- All of their VA’s are college-educated and US-based, who are (presumably) native English speakers.
- “Zirtual assistants” focus on tedious aspects of your work, but mostly things like “research”, “social media management”, and “data entry”. It’s said they can make small changes to/update websites and blogs, but they are not web designers, nor bloggers.
- All in, they are very expensive and don’t do a whole lot. Cool name though.
